SPD releases photos of Trans UW student stabbing suspect

SPD releases photos of Trans UW student stabbing suspect
May 14, 2026

By Hannah Saunders

It took the Seattle Police Department (SPD) three days to release images of the suspect who on the evening of Mother’s Day, stabbed a Transfemme UW student to death in an off-campus housing building. The suspect is still at-large.

“The suspect is a light-skinned black male approximately 5’7”, thin build, wearing a long-sleeve dark blue full zip shirt with a light triangle style emblem inside a circle on the left front, a white collared shirt underneath, dirty blue jeans, dirty dark, possibly gray shoes with a light sole. Subject is wearing darker rimmed eyeglasses, has short black/ hair and a goatee with ingrown scruff around the jaw,” SPD stated.

The 19-year-old student died alone on the floor of the laundry room at Nordheim Court, located at 5000 25th Avenue Northeast, and SPD, city officials, University leaders, and the medical examiner’s office have yet to release the name of the victim.

This murder occurred several days before Turning Point USA was to host a speaking event on campus featuring Chloe Cole, a 21-year-old who is the far-right’s face of detransitioning. Students had been planning to protest, and after the tragic news began circulating, Trans people and allies began commenting on social media news posts, encouraging dolls to exercise their Second Amendment rights and arm themselves, because these senseless murders are expected to continue.

TtS broke news that the event had been cancelled last minute due to an alleged “overwhelming amount of threats and security concerns.”

The White House recently released its U.S. Counterterrorism Strategy for 2026 that maps out how the Trump regime will combat what it refers to as three terrorism groups, such as “Violent Left-Wing Extremists, including Anarchists and Anti-Fascists.”

“Our national CT activities will also prioritize the rapid identification and neutralization of violent secular political groups whose ideology is anti-American, radically pro-transgender, and anarchist,” according to the document.

Trump said “We Will Find and We Will Kill You,” regarding people who hurt Americans or who are planning to.

SPD brutalizes Queer community and allies

The LGBTQIA+ community is approaching the one-year anniversary of the MayDayUSA event, where on May 24, Seattle Police officers brutally arrested and beat protesters who were at Cal Anderson Park opposing Christian fascists.

During the 2025 Sentinel Event Review, officers on the panel said they heard there was going to be an antifa meet-up, and claimed that antifa are violence, which led to such a strong response.

Officer Mathew Didier said “We’re going to fuck people up,” that day, according to body-worn video camera footage.

And some community members are skeptical that SPD will bring justice to the young Transfemme student who was recently murdered.

“A trans person being murdered in my community is an attack on all trans people in my community, so I’m opening a parallel investigation to bring justice, and to protect my community from what is very difficult to not see as a targeted attack in this political environment,” said activist AJ Randall, who goes by SquidTips.

Randall expressed how SPD told a news outlet that the community shouldn’t worry, as the department does not think “anyone else is at risk,” and how SPD didn’t provide an update for several days.

TtS will continue to follow the story.

SPD released images of the UW student stabbing suspect. Those with information are encouraged to call the Seattle Police Homicide Tip Line at (206)233-5000. “What happened nearly one year ago in Cal Anderson was not an anomaly. The neck-kneel has been banned since 2020, yet in less than one year I have personally experienced and witnessed on three separate occasions the neck-kneel,” one community member said at the May 12 public safety committee meeting. https://www.instagram.com/p/DYQ32WYR4_k/ Chloe Cole provides an update on why she cancelled the TPUSA speaking event at UW tomorrow. Friendly reminder that TPUSA is an extremist group. TPUSA cancelled tomorrow's UW speaking event. TtS reviewed an update from TPUSA UW's discord announcement channel, which cited an "overwhelming amount of threats and security concerns." This update went out at 4:41 p.m. today.
