The small town of Hunts Point hosted its monthly city council meeting featuring Mayor and DHS collaborator, Joe Sabey, on May 4. Mayor Sabey is the chief commercial officer of the Sabey Corporation, a Tukwila-based and family-owned real estate developer which recently signed a lease for office space to DHS at its Riverfront Technical Park property. A small group attended the meeting to rightfully criticize Mayor Sabey for profiting off the suffering of community members in King County. Instead of actively listening, he tapped away on his phone and refused to look the speakers in the eye.

One person expressed how a mother and her seven-month-old baby were kidnapped the previous week and have since been deported.

“I feel sorry for your children and the people who have to associate with you,” they said.
