At the July 7 Seattle City Council meeting, Bennett Haselton, a fascist collaborator and regular public comment provider defended his reputation to no one in particular. TtS has reported on Haselton clip farming content for far-right MAGA content creators, and several allegations, including following women and Queer activists to their cars after events. Several different victims flagged what they called sexually predatory behavior in 2025 to TtS.
Haselton was involved in the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests, and has butted heads with one woman in particular, who has called him out publicly for his alleged harmful behavior. When called out for making people feel uncomfortable and alleged stalking last year and this year, Haselton citied a “falling out,” with a former friend. On numerous occasions, protesters and organizers have asked him to leave because his presence made them feel uncomfortable and he was not welcomed; instead, he spoke back at them into a megaphone and did not respect their boundaries. At the council meeting, Haselton said men and women in activism spaces are guilty of saying harmful things.
“But sometimes, if a woman says something offensive and a man criticizes her for it, they often retaliate by calling it, “sliding in DMs,” or “harassment,’” Haselton stated.
He then played a six-year-old video where a protester mocked several police officers, called them “Gay,” and said “I bet you eat ass,” among other things, like suggesting they should kill themselves.
Haselton claimed that the more recent allegations against him are due to him calling this protester out for this speech. He brought up how he was allegedly assaulted in Cal Anderson Park on June 25, while being called a “rapist.”
“This is because of these incidents where I’ve spoken out against women in the protest movement saying, ‘You’re doing something offensive like this,’” Haselton said.
