May 23 marked the second time MAGA propagandist Cam Higby had a (this time “certified yapper” with Trans pins) hat stolen off his head while at a rally in support of Trans rights. The trend first began on August 30, 2025, at Cal Anderson Park, shortly before far-right Christian fascist Sean Feucht performed a rock concert in Gas Works Park.

Higby and others were working to clip farm LGBTQ+ community members, some of whom had met-up in the park before heading to Fremont, and verbal attempts to get Higby to leave were unsuccessful. Activists quickly learned how to redirect Higby: When his hat gets removed from his head, Higby must chase it. This tactic removes Higby from being in the vicinity of marginalized community members, increasing their safety. And on September 1, 2025, an X account, Cam Higby’s Hat, popped up.

“I’m cam higbys hat I was taken by the evil Antifa when he was bravely doing journalism at cal Anderson park. I am now in a van headed to an undisclosed location. Please tell cam to save me,” the first X post stated.

Higby’s Hat has a mind of its own, and does not necessarily align with the beliefs of its owner, an unapologetic Charlie Kirk supporter.

The X account has also taken Higby’s hat on field trips, including an apple-picking adventure.

“Ya know, Cam is talking about how evil transtifa is but they are actually so nice to me. And actually kinda cute,” Cam Higby’s Hat said in another post. “today we went apple picking. But I promise I’m still all yours Dean. Forever and always.”

On May 23, protesters marched from Cal Anderson Park to Seattle City Hal in support of Transgender people who are experiencing an internal refugee crisis. Higby was told by organizers and security liaisons to leave the area, but instead, the propagandist used spin-moves to push past people who were preventing him from entering the speaking area. After dancing around activists and Trans community members several times, Higby’s hat was taken from his head.

SPD arrested one person for removing a pin from his hat, and they were released without being booked. Sources told TtS that SPD officers asked Higby if his hat was insured when reporting the incident. TtS captured pictures of Higby’s hat and posted them on social media to inform community members of attire Higby wears to blend in with protesters to subtly film people. As a result, Higby reported us to SPD for “posing with stolen property.” Nothing has come of it. To TtS’s surprise, Higby did not get his “certified yapper” hat back, and it is now in the guardianship of the person who runs the Cam Higby’s Hat X page.

Another hat loss means Higby will have to spend time and money purchasing more deceitful gear. But the 27-year-old’s black hair has also drastically shifted grey since Trump retook office last year. While hate does not make one’s hair turn grey, the excessive anger and hostility contributes to an accelerated greying process, according to Henry Ford Health. Losing a hat makes it harder for Higby to hide his hate on multiple fronts.
