You don’t have to bleed for it to be your burden.
You don’t have to be enslaved to be enraged.
You don’t have to be hunted to bear witness.
If it doesn’t happen to you and that comforts you, you’re the reason it continues.
This country isn’t broken, but it was born wrong.
Its bones lie about injustice.
And those who remember the truth are not “radical.”
We are immune to propaganda.
Say it with me:
“I will not numb myself to be liked.
“I will not shrink to sound peaceful.
“I will not forget to see color- because I have eyes.”
This land isn’t yours, or mine.
This story isn’t clean.
And history will not call you innocent because you closed your eyes.
