ICE targets community recently impacted by SPD shooting

After Seattle Police shot and killed 29-year-old Christian Hadley Nelson for brandishing a firearm near the Othello Light Rail Station on December 2, ICE have taken to further terrorizing the south Seattle community.

There have been multiple sightings of ICE activity over the past few days, and one reported kidnapping near the Othello lightrail on December 6.

Remain alert and if you see suspicious activity, document it and contact us.

Yesterday, February 12, Border czar Tom Homan provided an update about the end to Operation Metro Surge in Minnesota– but ICE activities will continue. Yesterday, the Seattle Office of Inspector General (OIG) published its sentinel event review (SER) of the May 24, 2025 Cal Anderson Park protest, citing a need for additional training and cultural education at the Seattle Police Department. On February 12, King County Executive Girmay Zahilay signed Executive Order (EO) No. 2026-1, which enacts further protections, safety measures, and supports for the county’s immigrant and refugee communities. This order is in response to DHS’s spike in immigration operations in the region and listening sessions Executive Zahilay has had with community members, and it immediately goes into effect.
