On September 10, The Wildrose— one of 38 remaining Lesbian bars in the country— is hosting is Queer songwriter showcase that will feature a handful of performers, including San Diego’s Rachel Hall, who goes by the stage name Mariela.
Hall told TtS that she’s excited to try out a new Lesbian bar, and to be visiting Seattle for the first time. The show kicks off at 7:30 p.m. and will be hosted by Sara Camille Benson with additional performances by A Strange Bird, Alicia Healey, Rachel Hall, and Cass Garison.
“My set will be very story-teller-based, so I’ll be previewing a lot of my upcoming album and weaving the songs together into the narrative of my last four years since transitioning and at the end of my marriage,” Hall said.

Benson invited Hall to fly out and perform at the songwriter showcase one month ahead of her upcoming album, The Underglow, which will drop on October 10.
“My favorite part of being a Queer musician is getting to be the reputation I needed when I was coming out and learning to accept myself,” Hall said. “I want to show other Queer people that we can have happy, fulfilling lives filled with love and belonging.”
