Organizers working alongside the region’s immigrant community have requested support that doesn’t include performative protests, like the NO KINGS. To raise more attention about kidnappings and to push back harder against ICE, these organizers are hosting a NO KIDNAPPINGS Ugly Bike Parade on the morning of March 28 outside of the DHS office in Tukwila.
TtS previously reported on NO KINGS 2 and the upcoming NO KINGS 3 on March 28, where each time, tens of thousands of more people march in Seattle’s streets for the event. During the first two NO KINGS events, several community members were abducted during unscheduled appointments in Tukwila, but most of the day’s attention was on the massive march, both times.
“Join us for coffee, music, sign-waving, and an UGLY BIKE PARADE! Bring your ugliest bike or help other people decorate theirs. We’ll have some decorations available and a prize for the ugliest bike!” according to the flyer.
People attending should meet at Riverfront Park, located at 4124 S 131st St. at 7 a.m., and by 8 a.m., the group will march and bike to the DHS office, located at 12500 Tukwila Intl Blvd. Ugly bike awards will take place at 9 a.m., with sign-waving throughout the morning.
