Humanitarian aid that’s being let in is a tiny fraction of what’s needed, and most Palestinians are consuming about 250 calories per day, if lucky. The hunger pain is unbearable, Mahdi said.

Since 2023, his father has gone blind in one eye and will completely lose his vision in his other eye if he cannot obtain medication and undergo surgery. Mahdi has been crowdfunding on GoFundMe over the past almost two years to afford basic necessities for him and his family, and these donations are vital.
