The unofficial results of the King County primary elections brought much excitement across the Seattle, with residents yearning for progressive city leaders. Let’s take a look.
City of Seattle— Mayor
Recent polling results showed incumbent Bruce Harrell and Katie Wilson taking the lead. Voters turned out for Wilson, who has a proven track record of working for the people, like pioneering campaigns that have resulted in longer rent increase notices and late fee caps. While many crave the change in policies that Wilson is campaigning on, some Seattle residents feel more comfortable with Harrell continuing to lead.
Wilson: 46.21%
Harrell: 44.86%
Seattle City Attorney:
Erika Evans, who has worked in King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in Homicide and Violent Crimes unit had a whopping lead over incumbent Ann Davidson, who’s been serving since 2022
Evans: 51.13%
Davidson: 37.20%
Seattle City Council— Position 2
Eddie Lin is running on housing affordability and earned the most votes, followed by Adonis Ducksworth, who seeks to support families through increased job opportunities and livable wages.
Lin: 45.69%
Adonis Ducksworth at 30.61%
Seattle City Council— Pos. 8
This vote was blowout with incumbent Alexis Mercedes Rinck leading charge against ordained minister Ray A. Rogers.
Rinck: 75.24%
Rogers: 4.78%
Seattle City Council— Pos. 9
While incumbent, city council chair, and Fremont Brewing owner Sara Nelson has faced scrutiny in recent years over her conservative policies, she still has relatively decent footing, but Dionne Foster, who most recently served as the executive director of the Washington Progress Alliance, garnered over half of the votes.
Foster: 53.69%
Nelson: 39.10%
